This PHQ-9 Test (The Nine Patient Health Questionnaire Screening) was developed by Dr. RL Spitzer, JBW Williams, K Kroenke, and colleagues to assess baseline levels of depression. To diagnose depression, an appointment with a psychiatrist is required to complete a medical history, a physical examination, and a mental health assessment, which may include additional diagnostic tests to confirm the disease.
In addition, the test results obtained here cannot be used to replace a doctor's decision. Meeting with a psychiatrist to discuss and have a physical examination will result in an accurate diagnosis and treatment of depression.
